Vintage Thingy Thursday....GLACE

Happy Vintage Thingy Thursday to all!
Today I thought I would share a few AVON Fragrance Glaces!
Remember these from AVON?
All the best dressed chicks were wearing them.
They opened up in the back to reveal your favorite scent....Sweet Honesty? Whom can remember the lovely scents of the 70's? These vintage glaces are only a few in the collection I have. They are marked on the back pin side with
AVON FRAGRANCE GLACE Copyright AVON PRODUCTS INC. 1974 (1975)
NEW YORK,N.Y. 10019
There was an adorable rollerskating bunny ,his legs would swing so it appeared as if he were skating. The fun yellow bunny with his pom-pom tail...and of course my favorite..this sweet little bright yellow chicky with a pink beak!
When I pulled these Vintage beauties out my daughter in her Tiffany necklace asked "Mom,you wouldn't wear them would you?" And of course I responded "Yep"! Well most of you girls can imagine the look she gave me! LOL!
I shall consider myself on the best dressed list this SPRING!
Oh....and just incase you are wondering what that lovely(?) smell is coming from my blog is...
Yep...they are full of "Sweet Honestly"..oh...my...sniff...sniff...perhaps the pins are in wonderful vintage collection! But ladies this little well dressed vintage girl adorned in her finest Easter pins needs to go hop in the shower. For some reason 34 year old cologne just does not smell the same!

  3. I was a teenage Avon rep in high school with a territory where I sold door-to-door with my Avon carpet bag. That was 1972-73, it was short-lived but I spent all my earnings on Avon. Sweet Honesty was the fragrance to have back then.

They were the cutest little things and I even remember the Sweet Honesty line.
And now that you mention it, it gives me cause to think, we were perfectly content and pleased to wear such things and as you say, the girl of today want's Tiffany's! Wow. Kids likes changed from plastic to diamonds.

  9. Oh yeah...I remember these...always fun to receive. Didn't you used to love it when the Avon lady stopped by, with her big bag of goodies, and went through the book with you, and gave samples, and sprayed you with scent, and showed you all the new products? Wow, those days are over...now, you just find a book at a laundromat, or at an office, and place an order, never knowing just who the Avon gal is!
Avon used to have such cool stuff, now it seems as if it's all from China, and junky.
Anyway....all your recent entries have been really good...I try to comment, but blogger blocks my efforts, and that makes me cuss...like a sailor...not a sailor like YOUR Jimmy though! Bet, he'd like to get YOU on a slow boat to China, right?

  18. Too funny, sweet honesty was one of my faves, that and zany! My, then 3year old, found a old bottle of sweet honesty and had to use the rest as "cologne". I didn't argue or tell him differently!
