Today is my first time participating in VINTAGE THINGY THURSDAY with the Vintage gals that over with Coloradolady. blogspot. I have lurked there long enough...so today here I am...me and what "Lights Up My Life". This is actually a vignette of well loved items..and I beg you please do not enlarge as you will see a lovely collection of Vintage Dust Bunnies that were not intented to be there...who has time to Dust?
First my Antique kerosene lamp that I was lucky enough to "tote" home from my Moms , I have had it for quite a very long time and sadly enough with out my Dad here any more it has not been polished to the beautiful gleaming brass that it should be, how I wish he were still here to "Light up my Life"! The lamp is electrified and is light with a flickering bulb...beautiful at night!
Instead he shines on us from heaven, along with my Poppa! See Poppas bible in my vignette? It remains open to one of Poppas favorite pages, resting on top of it is a pair of antique brass rimmed eye glasses! Oh how I miss those men in my life!
I am blessed though with a special man,he truly makes me shine (ok...he makes me shine...but not shine the brass) you can see him in the picture with me! Now girls...his birthday is coming, BUT... I trust you all NOT to mention that I said HE is one of my FAVORITE Vintage Treasures! He would probably be thrilled to tell you that I am more vintage than him!
Please stop in and visit me again, I'll leave the light on for you!
This is a great lamp! Do you know about how

Your lamp is really a prize, and bet the flicker has added atmosphere and set the stage for romance a time or two~
Obviously, roses are a theme for you Lady Jane. That touch of dusty pink in the frame matches the roses perfectly! Very pretty setting....thanks for sharing your lovely items, and you and your sweetie.
I am imagining that lamp flickering in a soft amber glow...lovely.
