Aching Back Blue Monday.....
Happy Blue Monday Ladies! Spring has finally arrived in the Midwest...giving way for todays post of BIG Hilda by artist Duane Bryers...
Although she wears a yellow polka-dot bikini please notice the blue bow on her bonnet, and her blue garden gloves! Although the work of artist Duane Bryers is not copy-right free I snagged her from my dear friend Holly at Penniwigs blogspot...she shares alot of Big Hilda ( Get it?..Alot as there is ALOT of Big Hilda) Hmmmm perhaps the fumes of Bengay are getting to me...
Yep...You guessed it!!! In all my Spring fever I over did it in the yard...and have quite an achy back!
In sharing the works of a wonderful artist I thought I would also share a beautiful
Currier and Ives plate from one of their four seasons collections! Of course I chose the SPRING one to share! Happy First Blue Monday of Spring...join me as I slowly hobble over to join all of the girls over at Smiling Sally.blogspot...please click HERE to take you there...and if you would please...PASS THE BENGAY!

That plate definitely puts me in the mood for Spring! Big Hilda makes me think of my mom who always gardens in her bathing suit!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet blue-eyed Hilda has a nice tan. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteBig Hilda actually looks pretty good in that bikini! And I love the matching bonnet - something to think about for this year's beach season. Happy Blue Monday!
ReplyDeleteI love big Hilda! I know how she feels, but you’ll never catch me out in the yard in a bikini-umm-too many roses!

I have to laugh because I did the gardening thing in my garden Saturday and on Sunday I could barely move, I had the worse back ache! So I feel so much like Big Hilda right now (minus the swimsuit)
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday....
Ann
If I looked that good in a two piece bathing suit picking weeds, I would wear one everyday and have the best tan in this Country.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. That's what a woman should look like right?
Hope your home is back to normal Lady Jane.
Lots of love

ReplyDeleteI love Big Hilda and the fact that she gardens in her bikini! Boy my neighbors would get an eye full if I ever did that! They'd be picking their chins up off the ground!

Bengay is my husband repellent, and a very successful one it is. Actually, I live wearing this stuff for my torn rotator cuff shoulder.
ReplyDeleteThe corgis don't mind the smell, but Jim, moves to the front bedroom!!!
Sorry you have an aching back, Jane! Hope it's all better soon. I am trying to recuperate from overdoing everything the last few weeks, and I'm taking a little blogging break. Will be back and up and running soon!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
I certainly do hope she is wearing sunscreen! LOL
ReplyDeleteSeriously now...you take care of yourself...no lady deserves to have an aching back :)
Sending you get well quick wishes!
HAHAHA
ReplyDeleteI love big Hilda...soooo funny. Sorry to hear you are down on your back. I spent 2 days in our garden which is on a slope pulling weeds and raking about 1" of pine needles and dead leaves...I'm still not finished...both hubby and me were so sore and stiff. I use aspercream and it really helped but if I sat for very long, I would stiffen up all over again.
Hope you get to feeling better. LOL Still laughing about "Hilda"
What a pretty plate--I've never seen Currier and Ives with color. Thank you for sharing. We have tons of drifting snow so it's good to see springiness!
ReplyDeleteOh that looks like me after I spend too many hours on my old couch hunched over the computer!

I love Blue Hilda - she is fantastic. The plate is beautiful. I'm sorry about the back ache but the same thing will happen to me if spring ever comes to Pennsylvania.
