Sigh...Happy Blue Monday all you Blogging Blue Babes! Today I'm showing and sharing a project that makes me blue!!!!! Now how can a project make one blue you ask? See the lovely vines and beehive above? See the lovely vines stenciled above a door frame below?
See the little birdiehouse, sprinkling can and nest with little blue eggs that was above a shelf?
See the little birdiehouse condo with detailed bluebirds of happiness flying among its blue roofs?
See this little bluebirdie about to fly south? This little detailed bluebirdie that well is ready to shall we say fly south? These are all stencils and some free-hand wall murals in my bedroom...my GARDEN bedroom that is about to be re-done! She is getting a new look...a much freshened up look...something ...updated and well...something that I will be able to share on a certain SATURDAY post!
Yep it is sigh....time to paint over all my hard work....time to redecorate and fluff my nest to a new re-freshing color! Although in 1995 when I did all this work...it WAS the "TREND" to do..and I did for almost 15 years enjoy it...so calm and relaxing even the blue-green background walls!
So...before I go...before I grab a brush sigh...before I open a can of primer...sigh...
I'm going to click one last time on the little bluebird above...so she can go visit all of the girls over at SMILING SALLYS our lovely hostess for BLUE MONDAY...so please click on her...give her a wonderful send off...AND HAPPY BLUE MONDAY to you all!

Set Sail for Blue Monday

Happy Blue Monday to you all! Finally here in the Midwest we are beginning to see Springlike temps and while I have visions of lovely blue hydrangeas dancing thru my head the love of my life Jim has visions of blue sailing skies, blue (?) Lake Michigan waters...and our 1962 Rhodes Sloop Sailboat that is a work of Vintage Art in progress! Although I would rather stay home on Friday he has informed me that it is time Friday on his next day off to go take her winter cover off,so restoration may continue! The below picture is from last year when Jim had to climb the 25 foot mast as one of the ropes came loose! Of course he was in his sailing glory and I was a wreck, although I was able to grab the camera as it made for an interesting picture!
Once the rope was secured this is the view of leaving the harbor to the Lake! Can you see the lovely blue trim on the back of our boat? And the lovely skyline of Chicago? Truly a sailors delight! A delight girls only if you are Sailor...and a sailor I am not! Those beautiful blue waters scare the heck out of me!
I prefer to enjoy our "WAXWING" as she is so proudly named from her boatstands in Goose Island Boat Yards! With this being my second official year as his first mate he has BIG plans for me!
Stay tuned as I share with you the progress of the Waxwing, but before I do....I shall go take one of those little blue motion sickness pills, grab my blue bucket (can you imagine what for???) and hold on tight as my fingers turn blue holding clutching tightly to the rails!
Hold on girls...we may be in for the ride of our life...
While I look forward to setting sail please join Smiling Sally over at her blog for a listing of all the girls participating in this blue monday..click o on the lovely little bluebird to take you there!

BLUE MONDAY...BLUE PSYCHOLOGY

Happy Blue Monday! Today I thought I would share a little blue psychology! Well blue psychology of sorts,as I have been up a good portion of the night patrolling the water coming into my basement! Unfortunately it was not lovely "blue" water like that of the ocean,or a calming beachfront...so bear with me ladies as I guess I am just "singing the blues"!
A little bit about the color blue ...did you know that the viewing the color blue can lower your pulse rate and your body temp?
Did you know that they often paint offices in the color blue as it tends to make people more productive? (Time for a color change in my office...lol!)
Did you know that eating from a blue plate may lower your desire to eat?( I'm throwing out the diet book and scale and going to buy blue dishes!)
Did you know that the color Blue is used in many phrases? There are "good"blue phrases and "bad" blue phrases!
If you recall I am trying here to think positive,so I shall share with you the "GOOD BLUES"

*true blue...like faithful blog followers

*Out of the blue...like a compliment you never expected

*blue ribbon...As in a winner...and lol yep...Pabst Blue Ribbon BEER

*blueblood-As in a person of significance

*into the wild blue...as in I need a vacation...book me a flight

*baby blues...as in my sleepy little eyes

*Blue Monday...as in a wonderful place to enjoy and view all the "blues" (remember it will lower your pulse rate) so get over to smiling sallys blog for some real relaxing fun and the list of productive girls that have posted their blues with you!
So click here...take flight with the BLUEBIRD OF HAPPINESS and fly into the Wild Blue Yonder....it will take you there!
And if you would like to find more color psychology and more blue words visit http://About.com

Blue Monday...Babes In Blue

Good Morning to all the Babes in Blue....My post today is all about blue babes.....
About 30 years ago my Great Aunt Vera made me this Beautiful Porcelain Doll...she has the sweetest face and the brightest blue eyes which were hand painted. The clothes which look very Victorian were hand sewn and a porcelain glaze was put on them before firing so that it has a "stiff" feel. Each piece of hair is a strand of thread,so you can imagine the work that went into this. She is a beautiful keepsake, as well as the boy that was made to match. Someday for blue Monday I shall post the pair of them. They are proudly displayed on the mantle at my Moms.

The inspiration for this Babes in blue post came from a set of Folk art prints I purchased at the thrift store...the mat and background of these prints are a beautiful shade of blue that my camera would just not capture this morning. I love the doll that is dressed in blue being clutched in her arms.
The matching print has two adorable little gals holding a basket of flowers. Although I don't decorate much in blue (to many years of a Blue Plaid skirt in grade school...ugh....) but I will find a place in my home for these once I paint the frames. Another one of my favorite Blue babes is this porcelain doll , she has her own wood blue clothes trunk, perhaps some blue Monday I shall have a post just about her. For some reason girls my pictures have re-arranged themselves ,so I hope this Blue Babes post is not to hard to follow. Please stop over at Smilingsallys.blogspot.com to see all the "BLUE BABES" participating in this Blue Monday! For now I am off to work on some Pink Faithful Frannie Dolls so they can get into the mail! Happy Blue Monday to all!
